Resin Bond Wheels
Resin bond wheels are made up of phonetic, polyimide, and copper resins. The resin is mixed with the matching diamond or CBN type and size resulting in a resin matrix used to manufacture the wheels.
Due to the degree of elasticity, Resin bond wheels promote relatively low infeed forces which provides for a cool running and smooth grinding wheel with superior performance and finishes.
Based on the material, application and requirements, a phonetic resin can be used in dry grinding applications. Polyimide and copper resin wheels must be used with ample coolant.
Our design engineers can work with your engineers and machinists to determine which resin bond is best for your application.
A broad range of materials can be ground using our resin bond wheels:
- Ceramics
- Optics materials
- Quartz
- Glass
- Carbide
- Silicon
- Heat treated alloys
- Composites
